Have you heard of the book " 7 habits of highly effective people " by Stephen R.Covey?
mayb u hav heard of it, mayb u dont....aniwae, i will like 2 share a bit of it.
A month back, i attended a talk on this 7 habits of highly effective people. It was interesting, fun but filled wif messages that are important and useful. Ive gained a great deal of knowledge which may help us to plan out our lives, manage it and continue to strive.
Basically the 7 habits are :
1) Be proactive :- To initiate sumtink rather than waiting for other.
2) Begin with the end in mind :- To hav goals in life, short term n long term.
3) Put 1st things 1st :- To prioritise those important ones n do them 1st, others can wait.
4) Think win/win :- In negotiations or business, both parties hav to win.
5) Seek 1st to understand, then to b understood :- Simply listen 1st, den answer.
6) Synergise :- To work wif others n solve conflicts or problems.
7) Sharpen the saw :- Continuosly practising the above 6 habits to improve.

For myself, ive roughly set some goals in life. I will like to call out 2 my frens who may seem directionless or no idea of wat he/she may be doing in future, to sit down for a few mins n think of wat u wanna achieve in life. So, tag along wif me to set goals in life!! =)
Short term goals
> To finish my FYP
> To hold my Diploma next yr
> To go off for sailing aft graduation
Medium term goals
> To sail till Chief Engineer
> To find the special one! (hehe..)
> Support my family
Long term goals
> To reach Chief Engineer by 30
> To get married b4 30 (so far sighted..)
+ Hav a family
+ Own a property, car
> To hav assets of 1 million b4 40 (if possible..)
Dats wat i hav in mind currently...so guys, start wif the end in mind. Let the ball rolling now...
